What is ADHD Life Coaching?
ADHD life coaching is a partnership between the coach with their expertise on coaching and ADHD, and the client with their expertise on themselves, on what works and doesn’t work for them, how certain things make them feel and what their goals are.
Coaching helps the client
-understand how ADHD impacts their life
-find new ways to work with their ADHD
-reach their goals in life while being their true selves
-create a plan to improve their lives
It is a very open-minded, human, heart-to-heart connection treating the client as naturally creative, resourceful and whole. Without judgement and built on deep trust and confidentiality.
The more openness and vulnerability the client brings, the more the coach will be able to guide and support.
I think ADHD coaching is magical. It truly transforms lives. When clients approach me, they often have lost hope in themselves and their ability to reach their full potential. They've tried so many times in so many ways to deal with the challenges their ADHD creates in their lives. Often, years of therapy have not given the relief they've been hoping for.
As the coach, I teach my clients to recognize the things they already have achieved, and to use the skills they bring with them to their best advantage. To find new ways of approaching their challenges and to outwit the seemingly unbreakable wall they keep hitting over and over.
I do this by creating a safe and confidential space, where I will never judge and always listen, ask evocative questions to dive deeper into my client's world, be the real human me with all my talents and flaws, and be honest at all times. And while I take the art of coaching extremely seriously, it is important to me that we don't forget to laugh together.
